Moom 1.1 goes quarterly

No, that’s not how often we’re going to update Moom…it’s a reference to a cool new feature that lets you create corner-anchored quarter-sized windows—using either the keyboard or mouse, of course. This was the most-requested addition to Moom, and now you’ve got it.

The other big news in Moom 1.1 is that it now works with multiple displays. Using the keyboard or mouse, you can move and zoom windows across displays. Keyboard users can also move a window between displays, keeping its size and position (as closely as possible) when moved onto the new display. We’ve also got a snazzy new product page for Moom that better demonstrates how it works, so check it out.

Current customers can get updates via in-app updating (or by downloading a new copy from our site); App Store customers should see updates in the App Store application shortly.

    Hi,

First off, congratulations for a beautifully designed app. I haven’t bought it yet, but I surely will, very soon. I’ve been wanting something like this for a long time.

I have one small feature request that I’d like to see implemented : the ability to center a window; on either the primary or the secondary monitor if possible. An extra “center” button would do the job, with your “drag to send to other monitor” function as a plus.

I know, I’m a bit of a neatnik :-) I like my main Finder windows perfectly centered, particularly when I’m browsing the file structure in Column View.

    Thanks again!

You can center via the keyboard, but not (as of now) the mouse. We’ll take this under consideration for a future update.

One feature I miss is to be able to define custom sizes, or do sizes per app. For some apps, a 1/2 screen just doesnt seem right.

An upcoming update to Moom will feature something (for mouse users, at least) offering more window size control. It’s probably not exactly what you want, but maybe it’s close enough.
