Moom 3.2.11 speeds into existence

We’ve just released Moom 3.2.11, where the big news is much faster drawing of the full-screen grid when you’re moving and resizing the grid cells. There are a few other changes, including our new in-app log viewer (direct version only), and we squashed a bug related to moving a window to another display then resizing it.

App Store viewers can get the update from the App Store (if not now, then very soon), and direct buyers can update via the in-app updater, or by downloading a new copy from Moom‘s web page.

  1. I love Moom. Thank you!

Hi Team! any upgrade for Mojave? this release doesn’t work on it!

    • Rob Griffiths says:

This version works fine in Mojave. However, you will probably have to do one (or both) of these things:

      1) Reboot.

If that doesn’t work, then try this:

      2) Quit Moom, remove it from Sys Prefs > Security & Privacy > Accessibility. Relaunch Moom and hopefully it works after adding it back to that panel.

If neither of those work, open a trouble ticket and we’ll figure it out, as it does work in Mojave. (I’m writing this from a Mojave machine running Moom.)

I have followed these two suggestions, but I still cannot get Moom to work on my iMac since I installed Mojave.

    • Rob Griffiths says:

First, are you an App Store buyer, by chance? (Trying to figure out if this only affects the App Store version.) Try this slightly more involved fix: Quit Moom, remove its entry from the Accessibility section of Privacy & Security, reboot, reinstall Moom, make sure to grant it permission in Accessibility, then reboot once more.

Please let me know if this works for you.

Does Pop-up positioning still work in Mojave?

    • Rob Griffiths says:

It should, but we’ve had sporadic reports of some issues—are you an App Store buyer, by chance? We don’t think this is anything in Moom (though it may be), but something weird about Mojave and Accessibility. I’m working on a writeup that explains a couple of possible fixes. The easiest is to try a full reboot. If that doesn’t work, quit Moom, remove its entry from the Accessibility section of Privacy & Security, reboot, reinstall Moom, make sure to grant it permission in Accessibility, then reboot once more.

Please let me know if this works for you.

Hi Rob – It was an App Store purchase. Unfortunately the upgrade ended up breaking things in my development environment that didn’t show up in VMWare testing, so I had to roll the upgrade back. I’ll follow up when I take another run at an upgrade or a clean install, which I really should do one of these days ;)

        • Michael says:

Hi Rob – I went ahead with a fresh install and everything is working properly. Bringing across my custom prefs was a bit tricky, thankfully you have an entry in the FAQ about prefs caching!

          Keep up the great work,
          Michael

I cannot see any mention of Moom in SECURITY & PRIVACY. I see ZOOM in Accessibility in System Preferences, but it is not inside Security and Privacy. I don’t know if this ZOOM is the same thing as Moom.

  6. Archbishop Andrew says:

Well, by launch, do you mean start the program? I have it running all the time and it launches automatically on start up, but I don’t see anything about it in SECURITY & PRIVACY, or in ACCESSIBILITY. I don’t remember if I bought it through the App Store, of if I bought it from your website.

  7. Archbishop Andrew says:

OK. I finally figured it out. It’s running now. Thanks!

  8. It’s still broken on mojave, app store version
