Conversations with the App Store

The following conversations are taken from the reviews posted in various countries within the App Store. Because there's no mechanism with which to respond within the App Store, we're using this space to do our best to turn these one-way reviews into actual conversations. (Support information can be found in the sidebar at right.)

Nice words and comments and questions are coded for quick browsing; our replies are below each quote.

DialogueMan [UK] writes: This is a nice app. I like the fact you can use a mouse, and that the mouse actions are performed in the right place - right by the standard windowing buttons. The pop-up menu is neat, and the solution works well. The keyboard shortcuts are also good, but I have to say that they are less useful to me because the keyboard mode needs a special shortcut to activate first, therefore doubling the number of keypresses if all you want to do is maximise the current window in focus.

Moom 2.0 adds the ability to create an unlimited number of hot key shortcuts (also menu-accessible) for any of Moom's actions.

Robert Green [USA] writes: I had major issues with Crossover and Open Office after installing this. When I was using it, it is pretty cool for a quick way to stage windows in the Finder for drag and drop and for multi view of windows.

Moom 1.2 resolved the issues with OpenOffice and other applications by means of an elaborate workaround that we're fairly proud of. Due to a partially faulty accessibility system implementation on their part, these applications had previously crashed seemingly randomly in Moom's presence.

Jonathan Rioux [Canada] writes: Does the job, but incompatible with HyperDock. I've submitted a ticket to the dev team - almost instant reply (wow!).

Moom 1.2.1 resolved this issue with applications like HyperDock. This one was squarely our fault — the presence of other applications with functionality similar to Moom's own functionality sometimes confused Moom, rendering its mouse controls inoperable.

Moom 3.2.26 requires macOS 10.13 High Sierra or newer. You can try it for free. The release notes are an interesting read. And for the nostalgically inclined, you can still download older versions of Moom.
