When using X11 and Witch, Witch won't list the windows for apps running within X11. This is because X11 doesn't report that information to the system -- to OS X, X11 is a single app with one window. As such, it appears there's nothing we can do to get the data we'd need to list open windows within X11.

I'm OK with X11 being a single window, but I can't seem to get opt-tab to toggle between X11 and anything else. If I have X11 in front and hit opt-tab twice, i should be back at X11, but I'm not. Is there a way around this? Thanks.

I don't think I explained the situation clearly now that I look again. What happens is that if I press opt-tab with X11 in front, I end up with X11 still in front. If I start with X11 in front, hit opt-tab-tab and then hit opt-tab, i don't end up back at X11.
I see the same behavior with Apps that have no windows open, but X11 should be seen as 1 window open according to the first post above. Thanks.

I don't understand this answer completely either.
The OS X app-switching can switch x11 in and out, and witch can't. Witch seems to believe the x11 window doesn't exist at all.

We'll look into this to see what we might be able to do.

This is improved with 3.5.6, thanks. One more detail and it would be perfect. Apps without active windows are always at the end of the list when "Sort windows by window activity order". While this makes sense, this means that X11 is always at the end of this list, making switching back and forth between a X11 window and another window tedious. It would be better to have a hybrid ordering mode (or just change the window activity ordering mode) that would order apps without active windows by there activity order. For example:
Initially X11 has focus and there are two Terminal windows open.
On first alt-TAB press:
Release alt-TAB to select term1.
On second alt-TAB press:
release alt-TAB to select X11.
This would allow fast switching between X11 and a Terminal window. Neither "application activity order" nor "window activity order" allow for this kind of fast switching.
